(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); Ok guys. This is kinda obvious but this JUST hit me.

If the following requirements are met:

  • The other person has a FTP server on their PS3 running.
  • The other person has port 21 on their ROUTER forwarded to their PS3.
  • You know their IP address

If they are using blackbox or multi-man, their is no password. Older versions of openftp require user "root" and password "openbox"

Just put the info in filezilla and connect.

Now that you are aware of this, nothing that happens because of this is my fault.

Be careful with what you do with it. This can help to host files easily or do illegal acts as well.

Have Fun..

I can see it now, you trust some kid with something and you end up with some system files deleted... cough cough xTheSpoken... Nice find though I wouldn't have thought of this ever.

I gotta try this hmmmmm...... gotta find some kind of FTP client for android....

****edit****

was wondering though if it would accept a connection from the internet...

only way I can think of this working is if you are straight to the modem getting a public IP or a FTP Server on Ps3 to accept the outside connection

:/

the server is the local network ip from your ps3, you can't accomplish this in this manner.
unless you redirect all incoming requests to the local ip i guess.

yeah the ps3 must be connected to a server, and then you can access from another region.....

but this way like pcfreak are saying is just local.

Wrong. you guys have any idea how a router works. You have a ftp SERVER running on your ps3. By frowarding your port to the ps3, you expose it to the public.

Its basic networking. I know it works because I did it with swampman..
