(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); Ok guys. This is kinda obvious but this JUST hit me.

If the following requirements are met:

  • The other person has a FTP server on their PS3 running.
  • The other person has port 21 on their ROUTER forwarded to their PS3.
  • You know their IP address

If they are using blackbox or multi-man, their is no password. Older versions of openftp require user "root" and password "openbox"

Just put the info in filezilla and connect.

Now that you are aware of this, nothing that happens because of this is my fault.

Be careful with what you do with it. This can help to host files easily or do illegal acts as well.

Have Fun..

Just to give you a heads up. If your PS3's local IP address (e.g. 192.168.1.xxx) or your PS3's MAC address is DMZ you are already exposed because those ports are opened on demand. Also if upnp is enabled, those ports will also open when a FTP server is running. The best way to protect this is with a FTP server that requires a user defined username and password.

Or just disconnected the internet from your router, but also, one question, I aready have another FTP Server running on my Ubuntu box 24/7 so wouldnt that make the ps3 ftp unable to be use externally as my ubntu ftp is already using those ports.

Not exsctly dude. if course your ps3 will have a different IP than your router or wan ip. Its supposed to. Think if this, each person in your family has a namd (Ip address). But outside the house you are seen as the bob family or w/e. You may be individuals internally but are seen as the same externally.

Your router (mailbox) sorts things through to where they need to go. Its not a matter of hijacking a local wifi, but accessing through the net.

Understand?
