(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); Ok guys. This is kinda obvious but this JUST hit me.

If the following requirements are met:

  • The other person has a FTP server on their PS3 running.
  • The other person has port 21 on their ROUTER forwarded to their PS3.
  • You know their IP address

If they are using blackbox or multi-man, their is no password. Older versions of openftp require user "root" and password "openbox"

Just put the info in filezilla and connect.

Now that you are aware of this, nothing that happens because of this is my fault.

Be careful with what you do with it. This can help to host files easily or do illegal acts as well.

Have Fun..

I can confirm this working. You must use the IP address given to you by your ISP. If you don't know it you can find it here. Be careful who you give this information to.

You must login or register to view this content.

A server on your PS3. port forwarding allows it to be accessed from the web. FTP may/may not have a pass. I type your IP or web address if you have a domain associated with your IP, and your ROUTER forwards the request to your ps3.

If that didn't work, then half of the websites around the world would not be accessible..

stop wasting ur time talking to this guy...

This won't work the FTP only will work on local Internet so if your not connected to the same wifi connection then you will be connecting to one of your wireless devices instead of your friends...

Its basic networking. I know it works because I did it with swampman..

You need to portforward for external access.
How many people would risk exposing their PS3 to external access?
Certainly not me.

You talkin to me?
It would only work if they were stupid enough to forward ports 20 and 21 through their router to their PS3. In other words, they have to ALLOW you to connect to their PS3 - and who is stupid enough to do that, especially with ROOT access?

This just hit you? I've been doing it for a few months lol.
My friends have no idea how to stick patches and crap on so I get them to forward a port on their router and boom, do it for em.

I have known about it for a while, but it never came it me. I am quite knowledgeable in networking though..

OFFTOPIC: This was a while back, but whats the big idea trying to leech my old MW2 1.1 10th patch at MPGH?? If you are curious, i am pcfreak30 on mpgh.net.. My patch was CODED on pc and ported. Just still curious about that. You also never seen to be on live, because i had you requested for months. TBH That was a fag move with my work..

Theres a difference. You can send outgoing requests to a server, but for a server to get incoming request it needs to be forwarded. Also it wouldn't do any good because there wouldn't be a web server binded on port 80 running to take the requests, unless you had one running..
