As the judge is likely to have no clue what anyone is talking about in this case, he is going to look back to previous, similar cases for a legal precedent, and the most recent, and similar is going to be the case that Apple LOST over the jailbreaking of iPhones.

If courts can tell Apple that there is no way they can use "Possiblity for piracy" as a defence against jailbreaking the iPhone, and that in fact jailbreaking an iPhone is now perfectly legal, then there is no possible way that they can say that Sony, who are using the same reason to sue Geohot, are in the right.

Your right, but it does affect the gaming community. doesnt matter if someone is a noob or not. It let to a complete cluster Fu$k. Can it be used for a ton of good things... sure.. but the gaming community isnt full of common sensed people.... we all know this. i spent very hard earned money on my games and stuff for my ps3. why should i be punished when i wanna play a game and cant because of hacks like this.

As i said previously, if people choose to ruin online games, that's down to them. Even if jailbreaking your PS3 becomes legal, hacking online games won't.

Also, the only game i know this to affect is COD 4-6, try using your PS3 for other games :y:

Just because it enables it, doesn't mean it was designed for it.

Modding MW2 has nothing to do with this court case, therefore it is an irrelevant factor.

And as i have said twice, if Geohot wins, this will only allow CFW on PS3's. It will NOT allow people to hack online on any games. Sony will still have every right to ban people who hack games online..

i guess im just bitter. i had bought a game and now can barley use it for what i bought it for. I feel like it stemmed off of geohot.. like i said.. theres hundreds of good uses for what hes done.. but people tend to take advantage of such things.

However, i think it will be better if sony do loose the case, cus then they will be butthurt and try and ban people who hack online, whereas if they win, they will continue sitting on there asses and being useless..
