After having a quicklook onto Sony's PS3 Terms of Use I noticed a few points that could affect users that have hacked the PS3.

Here are just some:

You must not modify or attempt to modify the online client, disc, save file, server, client-server communication, or other part of any Service or cause disruption to any account, system, hardware, software, or network connected to Sony Online Services for any reason, including to gain an unfair advantage in any Service.

You must not bypass or attempt to bypass any user authentication systems or security feature or attempt to hack or reverse engineer any code or equipment in connection with Sony Online Services (unless permitted by applicable law).

But unless you have then this thread is pointless.

thousands of people have cfw.. If they released this, basically everybody who has it will buy an xbox instead of a ps3 which will make sony lose alot of money. IMO, there won't be any bands, just alot of updates.

I think we should make a poll for all users that have the CFW and are running it. The poll will be wether or not they are getting banned

I believe they're waiting to see what comes out of the court case.

If Geohot wins, Sony can't do much.

If Sony wins (lolz), then they have an excuse to do whatever the **** they want.

Imo it wouldn't be a wise thing to do banning people Atm as they currently have the court case going on and may F##k up the case if they ban people and for the noobs reading this they legally CAN'T BRICK YOUR SYSTEM OK

What does she mean by: "I don't believe you will be banned for using custom firmware,however you may not be able to access the PlayStation Network"

Does she mean like, Sony may temporarily prevent you to access PSN?
Or maybe she was talking about a mandatory update, which Sony has been doing for a long time to prevent hackers from connecting to PSN (even if only for a short period, until they crack the OFW again)

She wasn't that clear on that subject... :wtf:

So they basically mean your PS3 will be banned from PSN

Personally I hope the people who tampered with their Playstation do get BANNED.

They makes the Terms of Service for a reason.
