After having a quicklook onto Sony's PS3 Terms of Use I noticed a few points that could affect users that have hacked the PS3.

Here are just some:

PSN Terms of use:

You must not modify or attempt to modify the online client, disc, save file, server, client-server communication, or other part of any Service or cause disruption to any account, system, hardware, software, or network connected to Sony Online Services for any reason, including to gain an unfair advantage in any Service.

You must not bypass or attempt to bypass any user authentication systems or security feature or attempt to hack or reverse engineer any code or equipment in connection with Sony Online Services (unless permitted by applicable law).

The text says HARDWARE.
That may make a difference in court, but sony could still ban, it's there system.
[(Kinda)Off Topic] I think its cool and all to hack for homebrew, and some modded lobbies in MW2, but now almost every single game in MW2 is hacked. So sony needs to drop the banhammer or a warning on everyone who abuses there modded lobby capabilities.

Technically, although it's stated in their Terms & Conditions, Sony has no say whether you can get banned or not until the outcome of the geohot lawsuit is revealed.

That doesn't mean a thing... Some people have been running CFW, homebrew and backups for a long time and nothing happened to them yet.
Let's hope Sony just releases a new update to prevent CFW users to connect to PSN, nothing more... (as they have been doing like, forever) :black:

So they basically cannot ban you until Geohots has lost. But he could win, which would be amazing

Plus i've been running homebrew for 2 months and everythings fine but I deleted my boot_history.dat file and edited the params to make it look like when im running comgenie of ftp it says Call Of Duty: Black Ops

Why not delete the logs after using Homebrew/backups and stuff and then before connecting to PSN start a couple of original games to generate a new legit log? :p

Thats what I did.. I just replaced my explore_view.txt with a fake one =D

BTW they need new hardware to patch this PS3 is totally hacked for life now
