(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); Ok, so I saw a few threads on here about the PSN Pass, but it seemed to me that people were confused on what the PSN Pass really is. So mods- please don't close this thread.

-PSN Pass is a code you will get in games that you enter in one time only so you can play online.

-You get the code for FREE if you buy the game NEW.

-If you buy the game used, then you have to pay a $20 (not yet confirmed) fee to get the code ONLY if you want to play online.

-Not all companies will participate in this! They can choose to do this IF they want to. EA is already on the list, that's a fact, and Ubisoft (creators of the popular series Assassin's Creed) as well.

-GameFly is going to lose a lot of users! I really liked GameFly, I am cancelling my subscription this month

-So if you want to buy your games new, don't worry about it, you don't have to pay any extra money to pay online. You just enter the code, and you're done. If you want to lend your game to your friend, they can't play online unless you give them your system, or unless they buy the code.

-This will take effect September 2011.

-Sony: :yuno: make online free? If I had to choose whether to pay online for Xbox or PS3, I'd choose Xbox. At least there you actually get something! (Cross game chat, voice IM, and a better online experience).

No it won't. It won't be used to buy better servers, it won't be used to create additional content for games and it won't be used to give gamers a better experience playing that game. It's just a cheap attempt at forcing people who buy preowned games to pay Sony (or EA, or UbiSoft, or Warner Brothers as they also will/have their own Pass sytem) extra cash because they are losing out on money when people buy second hand.

Not one developer/publisher using an Online Pass has said in any terms how they'll use the extra money or why because we already know they won't do shit and they want to make extra money.

For me, I'll have to think twice before renting. It means putting a lot of extra consideration into how long online trophies will take, see if I can do them first and should I need to rent the game again, it should be for offline stuff as multiple rentals over time are made pointless with the 7 day limit (if they'll even do 7 days).

Its ten dollars... And Activision already plans to impose a fee on their games.... Just wait sony will not be the only company to do this ... Xbox will as well...Or the individual companies will start to... Stop bitching saying how you switching to Xbox over this... Just buy the game new if you dont want to pay the fee... And besides what if you had to pay it A used game is 20 30 dollars most of the time add 10-15 dollars onto that and it isnt as much as the new one....

Just seems to stop people buying preowned games, which makes sense as game companies lose an absolute ****ton of money from rentals and people buying used games. I don't like it, but can definitely see why they're doing it. Suprised it hasn't come sooner to be honest.
