(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); Ok, so I saw a few threads on here about the PSN Pass, but it seemed to me that people were confused on what the PSN Pass really is. So mods- please don't close this thread.

-PSN Pass is a code you will get in games that you enter in one time only so you can play online.

-You get the code for FREE if you buy the game NEW.

-If you buy the game used, then you have to pay a $20 (not yet confirmed) fee to get the code ONLY if you want to play online.

-Not all companies will participate in this! They can choose to do this IF they want to. EA is already on the list, that's a fact, and Ubisoft (creators of the popular series Assassin's Creed) as well.

-GameFly is going to lose a lot of users! I really liked GameFly, I am cancelling my subscription this month :(

-So if you want to buy your games new, don't worry about it, you don't have to pay any extra money to pay online. You just enter the code, and you're done. If you want to lend your game to your friend, they can't play online unless you give them your system, or unless they buy the code.

-This will take effect September 2011.

-Hope I cleared up some information!

-Sony: :yuno: make online free? If I had to choose whether to pay online for Xbox or PS3, I'd choose Xbox. At least there you actually get something! (Cross game chat, voice IM, and a better online experience).

:FU: SONY!!!!

Cheap piece of crap? Sony provide us with FREE ONLINE, yes they went down, and so what if our addresses and emails are stolen anyone can get that info anyway.
They then provided us with FREE GAMES. You know Microsoft went down for three weeks during CHRISTMAS before, and when they came back, all they gave people was three weeks free Gold Membership, and only to members who were Gold before the outage.

The moral of the story is you are an ungrateful ****, and Microsoft are the cheap ones.

ps. To those who think I was too hard on him, I don't care, I'm tired of kids like him thinking they know everything. PS Pass is a good idea, they are considering bringing it on XBox too.
It gives money to the developers when people are too cheap to buy the game new.

$20!!! That's ****ing ridiculous! It should be 10-30% of the games current value.. 20 dollars is more then what some of those used games are worth.

I'm an ungrateful piece of shit for using my service to have had my credit card stolen? Your statement is completely FULL of complete idiocy and ignorance? I buy games used, want to know why? Because I can't afford to pay for the full ****ing $60 game, and times are tough right now. It's more ironic that your acting like you know everything and having a linear vision.

Why do you think piracy is so damn rampant? Game Developers make more money in a single game for $20 than someone in the lower class will in their entire life, and some people have the only opportunity to buy a game used on certain times if they're lucky. I'm one of them, and I take exception and offense. With Xbox Live, you pay or your money's worth, you get more things on the market, a better GUI, earlier DLC, and a damn good online. PSN only has a decent online and a decent market. Playstation Home is alright, but as I said, you get your money's worth. PSN is free, so you'll get worse. And why did XBL give Gold to existing members? Because people had to pay for Gold, that would violating some law for not compensating something paid for.

And quite frankly, you don't know the scares of identity theft clearly if your going to say someone had your credit card. I don't care if there's a one in a million chance my card will be used, I'm going to be worried there's a chance in the first place. Sony giving us free games is something that should have been done for putting millions of people's financial security at risk. The PSN plus is absolutely ridiculous, it's bad enough they can barely keep their own servers functioning properly, and now after all of this, people are going to be charged online?

The moral if this story is that you need to think before you think of crap, and start looking at other perspectives.

You show me where it says that Credit Card Info was taken. Sony said it themselves that Credit Card info was not taken and only the useless stuff. If you can show me that I'll take it all back. PSN is a lot more stable than XBL, I have both, I play both the same amount, I like my PS3 more, and I'd sell my Xbox if it wasn't for the fact that all my friends are on Xbox.

I am looking at it from other perspectives, I'm one of the few who realise that shit happens, its not Sony's fault they were hacked, anyone and anything can be hacked. Something is hacked everyday, and people's credit card info IS actually stolen in them cases.

Also, with the PSN outage Sony did not have to offer anyone anything, nor did Microsoft when they had their outage. But Sony did anyway.

Also an outage during Christmas is WAY worse than an outage during EXAM TIMES, I had exams for the whole month that PSN was down, so did a couple of other MILLION people so the outage was actually a positive for me as it meant I could focus on exams.

Nothing else to say on the matter, shit happens, and it happened big time to Sony but its not their fault. It could easily happen to MS too.

You must login or register to view this content.

Though it isn't the 24.5 million, thousands of cards we're still lost. It can be possible for Xbox to be hacked, but I guarantee you that Xbox has a lot more security and not outdated like Sony's database structure that is years outdated. I have Xbox, but for the time I did have Live, I preferred it far more than PSN.
