Joined the forum to get help on Jailbreaking my PS3 and hacking MW2 to get glitches and prestige etc.

I know the basics of Jailbreaking a PS3 as I have a guide and the files needed. Im going to try the Jailbreak tonight or tomorrow on an older PS3 that I have on 3.55. When I Jailbreak the PS3 where do I get the modded patches for MW2 and how do I go about setting them up on my PS3.

I am totally clueless on how to go about this. Is there any links people can give me or any guide somebody can post to give me simple step by step instructions on how to do this.

Also when I install the game patches will I be asked to upgrade to 3.56 to play online and will this effect the patches or my PS3 in anyway or is there a way to bypass this.

Any help would be greatly appreciated because im totally new to this and really need all the help I can get

Dude you dont have to upgrade to 3.56 after you get the mod lobby. Just bypass using a DNS server.

I managed to get a guide to show me how to Jailbreak and add the pathces etc but i dont know how to bypass the 3.56. You mentioned the DNS numbers but I have no idea how to change them and what values to enter. Could you give me a simple guide. Would be much appreciated

Ok go to network under settings and go to the bottom where it says connections or something of that sort. click on internet connection and choose "custom". Just enter everything as you usually would but when you get to "Use DNS Server?" select "yes"

Then enter 67.202.81.137 for both the primary and secondary DNS. continue on and do the connection test. If the test turns up good then you will no longer be asked to download 3.56 for that system before playing games.

I'd also recommend using Mossy v9 Edit By Chrome Playa as your modded MW2 patch. He makes the best patches with the most features and that patch is what I use.

I can also help you with putting the patch on the system if you need that.

to play online with 3.55 go to settings-network settings-internet connection settings-custom-and where it says dns settings change the primary and secondary values to 67.202.81.137

Thats brilliant mate mate. Im using this guide here for a walk along. Its not a guide on what to do after Jailbreaking but a non Jailbreak method for modding. Im guessing its the same way you add the patches if you use the jailbreak method but if its different and you know a better way then any help would be great

The non jailbreak method tends to be a huge pain in the ass. I would recommend doing the jailbreak as it is easier and less time consuming. Once you have done the jailbreak the process for adding or changing a patch is very quick and easy.

Ok. Im going o do the jailbreak tonight on my PS3. I have the 3.56 version now so will have to downgrade 1st. Once I do the jailbreak ill come back here and if you could give me some tips on what I have to do then that would be brilliant. The way I was thinking about doing it was this way,

I would use the program called Come Genies Awesome File Manager but if there is a more simple way then Id rather use it

That guide is BS lol. Its basically the same as doing a JailBreak.

as far as using ComGenie that part is good. ComGenie is the easiest way to transfer patches to ps3. But you have to have a Usb memory stick to make the transfer of patches using ComGenie
