Joined the forum to get help on Jailbreaking my PS3 and hacking MW2 to get glitches and prestige etc.

I know the basics of Jailbreaking a PS3 as I have a guide and the files needed. Im going to try the Jailbreak tonight or tomorrow on an older PS3 that I have on 3.55. When I Jailbreak the PS3 where do I get the modded patches for MW2 and how do I go about setting them up on my PS3.

I am totally clueless on how to go about this. Is there any links people can give me or any guide somebody can post to give me simple step by step instructions on how to do this.

Also when I install the game patches will I be asked to upgrade to 3.56 to play online and will this effect the patches or my PS3 in anyway or is there a way to bypass this.

Any help would be greatly appreciated because im totally new to this and really need all the help I can get

Installed and I got the file manager program

Its cool about the time man. It doesnt bother me in the slitest. Im just glad somebody has taken the time and patience with me. Really appreciate it

Hey well I don't mind helping man. Thank you for your patience. Ive had rolling black outs in my area so that's why I couldn't help you finish last night. Thankfully my FireFox saved all that I had been typing last night . Again I do apologize haha.

Well now that you have the file manager.

After installation of that . pkg you should now have ComGenies Awesome File Manager. Open it to makes sure it opens correctly (NOTE BE CAREFUL IN COMGENIE. READ THE BOTTOM LEFT OF THE SCREEN AND READ WHAT EACH BUTTON DOES. IT IS VERY POSSIBLE TO ACCIDENTALY DELETE IMPORTANT FILES.) If it opens correctly then press the PS button and click quit game.

Now go here and download EliteMossy's v9 Edit by Chrome Playa Update9

Press the button on that page that says Direct Download, when the box pops up click save file(it will have auto selected open file. Do not do that.). Now locate the file and place it onto your usb memory stick and plug that into your ps3. Now open ComGenie again. There should be two rows of file names in comgenie. On the left select hd00, then game, then scroll up to BLUS30377, then click on USRDIR.

Once in there you should see somewhere along in there a file named patch_mp.ff.

Now go to the right side and select usb_hd00(or something close to that). It should then show the patch_mp.ff file that is on your usb memory stick.

Highlight the patch_mp.ff on the right side and then press the o button to copy to the ps3. It will ask you to confirm. Do this by pressing the start button. The transfer will take mere seconds. This will simply overwrite the original MW2 patch with the Modded patch.

When the transfer is complete, press the PS button and press quit game. Now insert MW2. Go to multiplayer and start a private match. When your private match starts you should be able to press Up on the control pad to give you access to the modded menu.

Now your modded menu will only be available to you when you are the host of a public or private match. If you are not host then it wont be there.

If you have any additional questions about anything or how to work the menu then let me know man.

I can also help you to get 11th prestige if you'd like. Its relatively easy to do.

Just be sure to back up any important data before attempting that process to downgrade because there is a possibility of losing important game saves and such.

Hey. Just a quick question about the file that downloads. When I opened the page there was no direct download option so I just clicked one of the many download buttons.
The files that was downloaded was called FDMSetup.exe

.exe files are generally ones for the PC so do I have to open anything on the PC first to extract an inner file or is this the basic files that i put on the memory stick. Thanks

Sorry doesnt matter. I tried downloading the file again through the rapid share options and got the file patch_mp.ff
This looks the correct one. Ill give it a try in an hour or so. Cant get to the PS3 atm because my Dad is using the TV.

Just while Im here though Id like to get the 11th prestige as well. Also I saw somebody talking about a patch that made you force host games. Is this patch still on the go or has it been patched over now. Thanks

When you click the link, down the page a little there will be a logo that says "MultiUpload" to the right of that it will say "https://www.multiupload.com/EFBWSIPWPW" To the right of that link there should be a blue button that says "direct downlod". Click that button and select save or right click the button and press save as. DO NOT CLICK ANY OTHER LINKS ON THE PAGE. THEY DO NOT CONTAIN THE FILE YOU WANT. Try it and let me know man.

Oh ok sorry didnt see this EDIT before my last post. Yes the patch that you have now includes force host. Also I can help you with 11th. Let me type up a simple guide and ill post it in a little bit.

Forgot to ask about this. When I downloaded the file I got 2 files inside. Ive only used 1. What was the other for?

I used the EP0001-BLES file but not one called EBOOT.BIN

Do I need the 2nd file for anything?

I'm really not sure what the EBOOT.BIN is for as far as ComGenie. I do not believe its essential to the use of ComGenie. Have you tried adding the patch yet?
