(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); Damn... I've been reading, and most of this forum loves cod but it seems most of you seem to be really hating what we've seen from Modern Warfare 3 so far. It seems like most of you guys have jumped onto the Battlefield 3 wagon or are indifferent regarding MW3. Why do you hate/love what we've seen so far?

My personal opinion is, the game just looks exactly the same as Modern Warfare 2. I would've really liked to see some graphical changes, maybe some destructible environments even (I wish). Instead, it seems we're just going to get a patched Modern Warfare 2 not worth $60.

I respect your opinion; however, it is hard to speculate based on a few gameplay videos that show less than 2% of the whole campaign. I'm sorry, but you made a completely uneducated statement by saying that they just patched MW2 and re-released it as MW3. I highly doubt a "patch" could hold a completely new campaign inside of it. Here are a few of my points:

1. You say that there should be new graphics. In every sequel, developers make minor adjustments to graphics to maintain a certain level of realism. In MW3, they improved the realism of explosions, were able to recreate the entire city of Manhattan, added a new under-water environment, improved bullet sound so you can here the gun whiz by your ear, and added new located from all over the world. Note: this is only based on the gameplay from E3.

2. You say that MW3 looks exactly like MW2. Just because it looks similar, doesn't mean it's exactly the same. It is a sequel to MW2 which means it will maintain the same look and feel. Hence the name "Modern Warfare 3".

3. You say that from what you saw, MW3 has no improvements from MW2. You say that you didn't see any new customization or other features. Well, if you watched the gameplay, you'll see that they have added a new feature that allows you to switch between two scopes on your gun. Also from the video, you'll see that they have added a new grenade launcher and implemented changes into the Predator Missile. You can also see that they have added the abilty to swim under-water, expanding the environment from the city to the sea. You are complaining about how you haven't seen any new customization. Customization is for multiplayer and they haven't even released any major information for multiplayer. Robert Bowling stated that they're introducing new levels of customization into the multiplayer anyway.

4. Modern Warfare 3 is set in the same time period as MW2 and is being developed by the same company. Of course it is going to be similar. Plus, MW3 is introducing something completely new called Survival Mode.

5. MW3 is 5 months away and still in development. Only 20 minutes of campaign gameplay has been released. You can't even begin to judge the game. It annoys me that you continue to say that they have made no effort to change anything when the only thing you have seen is Robert Bowling standing on a stage playing a demo of the campaign.

1. Okay? So they were able to add some additions based off of the same engine with some cruddy tweaked features. All this engine has going for it is that the engine runs 60 fps on console, big whoop. A smoothe 30 fps is sufficient.

2. That's fine, but I guess I'm just really sick of Modern Warfare 2 & COD in general so you're right in that respect. Completely my own opinion.

3. It just looks like the same exact game, barely any recoil, the sounds of the guns are recycled (as are the looks), etc. I wish it was different, but it just isn't...

4. Oh so Horde? Onslaught? Nazi Zombies? Firefight? What's new here?

5. Because they haven't, its the same damn game with some weapons back from cod4.

So you made a thread about NGU hating MW3. . . and then you talk trash about it. You are an idiot.

Did you even bother to read the topic? The point of the topic was to hear why people LIKE or DISLIKE the game and why so far. Goddamn.

Because it's Modern Warfare 2 with a few little things added on, my prediction anyway.

I'm getting both bf3 and mw3. I have been a huge fan of battlefield for a long time. I started with bf 1942 and moved up from there to bf2 and all its expansions. I got cod 4 in 2008 and was hooked. I was really excited for bf1943 b/c of it being on ps3 but it was an epic fail. I have a feeling bf3 and mw3 will be neck and neck in the GOTY(Game of the Year) competition. Although bf3 surpasses any other game i've ever seen in terms of graphics, The next best i've seen in graphics is socom 4. The CoD b.o. (SP not MP)

Because nobody who actually isn't buying the game just hops on BF's dick out of no where for no apparent reason, they're just going to bitch that isn't cod later on anyway.

I don't understand how people can complain NOW and say it's the same. It's been the same since Cod 2. Mw3 is going to be great IMO. The offline campaign can be exactly the same graphics for all I care, as long as there are new missions. The graphics in Mw2 were great regardless. Don't get me wrong, sure BF looks nice, but I prefer the gaming style of COD games, as they are much more fast paced, and don't have maps that you need to run for 10 minutes to get a kill. I have been following the storyline for Cod since pretty much Cod 2, and I can say it has been a great one. I have no reason to switch to BF.

THANK YOU for an educated opinion, I appreciate it. I see your opinion and there's really nothing to counter it with other than COD has changed quite a bit since 2. It's the same core gameplay (which is what it should be anyway) with tweaks here and there.

I understand where your coming from. Only reason your hatin' on COD is cuz your sick of it. Sounds like you just need to find another game. Some people just lose interest in certain types of games. I used to love all the GTAs, but now I'm bored of them. Same old thing, some guy running around doing whatever he wants lol. But I'm still interested in COD and pumped for what MW3 will be like. BF3 looks good too, but I've never owned a Battlefield game before.

Yea exactly, but lately (like in B.O.) they have been able to change the Multiplayer in so many great ways. Hopefully we see this in MW3. And I don't understand why people use the term "switching over" to BF3 or "switching over" to MW3. It's not like we're deciding between XBOX and PS3. If I had the money, I would buy both MW3 and BF3.

Well I don't only play COD but it was my main game for awhile. I play Gears of War, Battlefield & Left 4 Dead as well. Also, if you plan on buying BF3 don't expect the game to be like cod at all. It's a squad based tactical shooter, you have to play like any other soldier out on the field. YOU ARE NOT RAMBO! I suggest trying Battlefield 2 on PC for a lot of the features of Battlefield 3 and Bad Company 2 on x360/PS3 for what the games going to look like, the destructible environments, etc.
