(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); This angers me so much :argh: Were too soft; this would never be allowed in any other country. Only around 10% of the Metropolitan Police are Riot trained, so theres not enough to make many arrests AND hold Police lines. So were just watching our own city be ripped apart and burnt to the ground!.

The Police are scared to use too much force after the 2009 G-20 Riots, in which they got criticised for doing there job. Also, it's illegal to use water cannons in mainland Britain, and although the Prime Minister, David Cameron, could legalise them in an emergency COBR (a sort of UK version of the White House Situation Room) meeting tomorrow, they would have to be brought in from Northern Ireland which could take a certain amount of time we do not have.

With no considerable force to fight back with it seems were fighting a loosing battle and it looks like the government is playing a "burn its self out" strategy.

Well what do you think would be the best way to bring things back under control?. It doesn't seem a good sneak peak at what could happen at the 2012 Olympics does it? No

Start shooting them. That's what any developed country would do to looters. They make it look like anyone can steal, that must be suppressed.

Shoot them. They will stop, America did it right after Katrina.

We're too soft? Pfft, there's MUCH bigger riots in other countries, but the only reason they don't talk about alot of them is because they know the whole country would be on riot, not just the youths.

The current riots just show how shit the system is, and it's going to take the Government a very long time to realise how shit their system actually is, surprisingly a lot of the public don't realise it either, since they are thinking exactly how the Government would like them to think.

Easter Egg!
They should just give out free vouchers for Kfc. Problem = solved. :y:

Or just actually do something with their riot shields instead of being scared and get some goddam order back!.

I do not know all the issues, but what is happening has happened in many countries over the years.
Paris had similar riots last year that went on unstopped for a week.

Civil unrest is one of the hardest challenges of any free society to deal with, but wholesale looting is a horrible embarrassment to watch on TV.

You have one of the great countries in the world and plenty to be proud of, other than people taking advantage of a situation.

In our politically correct country you can no longer do that, get with the times. Imagine the compensation claims if you shot people with rubber bullets and water cannons, Britain has moved on we are no longer in the 80s... is that a good thing?

It's obvious that the riots are not based on the killing of the man anymore, its just been overtaken by yobs that join in to loot and damage property. But I think there is an underlying factor why people are rioting and its anger in the government, with aggression becoming larger with the cuts, and seeing as many are students, the huge increase in uni prices. Citizens affected have just snapped, and with the small group of people who started the original riots its an easy task to then join them.

So I guess I do agree to the riots, violence is often needed for anything to change, and to demonstrate public unrest. With out so nothing would change. And still probably won't but at least fun was had smashing shops up and getting free items, and yes I am a teenager so that is appealing to me with no consequences.

That's barbaric, we would be no worse than countries like Libya if we turned on our own citizens. We are a civilized country, going to such low standards would be unheard of, and against all what our country stands for. And just you suggesting this shows how narrow minded you are and childish.
