I'm sorry, are you actually using the bible as a source in this debate? This is a real world issue about real world people, not fairy tales, sky daddies and underground goblins.

First of all, your right. I'm npot talking about fairy tales. I'm referring to the doctrine we have pertaining to what we have recieved from God.

You are indeed talking about fairy tales.

Firstly, there's no proof whatsoever in any shape nor form that any deity or other supernatural entity has ever reached out to us. Secondly on what basis are you willing to trust this doctrine? There's tens of thousands of others to choose from, most of which predate yours. There is a naturalistic explanation for every supposed supernatural event. Numerous parts of the bible are immoral, numerous illogical and numerous outright false historically.

You cannot justify discrimination on the basis of your own personalized myths.

The greatest proof we have is the Universe and all things within it. If you believe that we came from somthing the size of an atom that just happened to explode creating a vast expanse larger than we can percieve, you sir are very arrogant.

I support gay marriage. I see a lot of people saying they're against it because the Bible says so, I'd rather people say "I don't think they should get married because I really think it's wrong and it really bothers me" instead of thinking the Bible outlines the only way of life. I support self-thought and individuality not being mindless drones driven by religion.

It would be awkward, but I would accept it. Why? Because I have no right to impose my views on them, on an issue that is entirely personal.

Analogy: If you were against people who liked coffee, your brother tells you he likes coffee, you completely disconnect with him

Oh I get pissed, slight difference though. I'm an atheist. Atheists are not represented by a single group, entity, etc... Yet around 50% of the US wouldn't vote an atheist for president. For the sole reason of being an atheist, so please don't play the "I'm being persecuted!" card.

Not only do you not actually understand the theory, evidently, but you're also ignorant. Learn what the importance of evidence is in every aspect of science, look at our world and see what science has accomplished, see the theory, see the evidence, accept it or reject it without the preconception that a magical man in the sky did it all. Otherwise your opinion isn't valid, to be quite honest.

First of all, the term "common sense" puts nothing forward to the this discussion, in this context it's meaningless. Secondly, they are myths. Otherwise you'd need to accept every other myth man has ever invented as true as-well, no? Unless you can provide evidence, of course, however I highly doubt that.

As stupid, homophobic and ignorant as this quoted text is I'd like to take the opportunity to point out that Christianity nor religion in general hold the monopoly on marriage. Research these things a little, would you?

No, they don't. You think it's wrong and have yet to provide reasonable explanation as to why. Your rambling is akin to the typically homophobic idiot, to be blunt. Never providing reasons, but spouting your opinion anyway.

I'd be glad, because then I'd know that although they had to be dishonest about their sexuality for so long, now they can be open about who they really are. And in a society where homosexuals are so oppressed, I'd be proud, too.

There's a wealth of difference between bashing someone's religion and someone's ethnicity. How stupid do you have to be to fail to see that?

When it happens to me, I argue back. Thus far 100% of my opposition and their ignorance have backed down. It's a pretty solid indicator about who's right, huh? I certainly think so.

You're confusing the words "belief" and "faith".

Faith; "Complete trust or confidence in someone or something." Basically belief in-spite of evidence. That's where theistic beliefs come into play and that is not a positive trait.

I hadn't even heard about it. It's probably bollocks and until you show me otherwise I shan't humour this.

Aliens aren't attacking(seriously dude?), and this simply isn't relevant.

Nope. Some people and their prejudices would refuse to allow gays, blacks, women etc into their armies. Even in the midst of war and the need for manpower discrimination is and would be rife.

Oh look, a conspiracy theorist without any proof. How cute. Although I don't like calling you a theorist, as that indicates that there is method to your madness.

People have been saying that for decades regarding aliens, and for dozens of centuries regarding deities. The fact that you're saying it, again, brings nothing forth to this discussion.

I don't agree with it. I guess it's my old school hick way of thinking, but it even goes against our survival. If the gay population rises, the general population will decrease.

What makes your *OPINION* more correct then his? He thinks it's wrong, and to that you say it isn't. I've had debates with you before, and you always have a logical backing. What's your backing to this?
