I don't agree with it. I guess it's my old school hick way of thinking, but it even goes against our survival. If the gay population rises, the general population will decrease.

We have plenty of people, and just because they aren't getting married doesn't change the fact their still gay.

What makes your *OPINION* more correct then his? He thinks it's wrong, and to that you say it isn't. I've had debates with you before, and you always have a logical backing. What's your backing to this?

First, he states all people think his way, which they simply don't.

For one, my opinion doesn't impede on others civil rights. His persecutes and segregates homosexuals on simply ridiculous charges. If I had an opinion that people who like coke should be allowed to drink from soda fountains I would be laughed at and ridiculed, yet people do this to homosexuals and sometimes receive applause.

Homosexuality is genetic. It would be as if I asked if you prefer coke or pepsi. You don't choose to enjoy one more beverage more, you just simply do. To discriminate on grounds of being born different, while causing no harm in your actions born with, is ridiculous.

Look, it has been compared to, and I think it could easily be looked at in the future, to racial discrimination. Now I know it isn't near the same, for obvious reasons, but isn't it a bit silly? About 50% of Americans feel homosexuals should be able to be married (The term marriage, not civil union or whatever). That, while pathetic, is a large amount.

As for the whole civil union ordeal, it simply isn't equal to marriage. Marriage has perks and are treated different that those "unions" don't receive. If you made it 100% equal, then maybe you could formulate an argument. It won't matter though, gay marriage is an idea becoming only more accepted as the antigay propaganda is often laughable.

Lol, just trying to make a good argument. Out of curiosity, did I manage to stir up your thoughts on that matter at all?

Just adding to.

Fear guides people to act irrationally, even to old ideas. Homosexuality has existed since the beginning in all animals. It is not something new, just something the humans have decided to argue against. They cannot continue the human race through procreation, thereby adding more humans to this world. I do not see this as a problem, less people isn't a bad idea. It is immoral, not it isn't, two consenting adults having sex regardless of gender is unimportant. Why so many seem want to know about someones sex life is beyond me, is there not enough to occupy their minds?

Marriage is a good one to, perhaps gays shouldn't get married. After all its creation was about expanding the family through a business deal, trading property for children. The bride being the property, giving her husband access to her fathers estate in trade for maybe an heir, land, power or all the above. It is an convenience arrangement not one of love. It was romanticized many times by the hopeful to be something more.

I think we need something better, something that actually allows the joining of two people who actually care for one another that isn't so damned political.

Not gonna happen. Seriously, why do you need marriage if it isn't political/religious? If its for a forever commitment, then that's just silly. Don't get me wrong, I'll probably tell my beloved one that I'll love her forever, but you can't have almighty control. Things get in the middle of it: Political differences, religious differences, changes in opinions, differing on desires, etc...

Yeah I know the possibility of that ever happening is nil, I would like to see an alternative just to drive everyone nuts over it. Try to get marriage ruled as antiquated.

In Flames Much?
I see no problem with allowing it...
Marriage for many people no longer has a religious meaning behind it.

End of the day marriage is about love and wanting to be together with somebody.

Only problem i have is when people do it without loving each other and it ends.
