So there's this girl I really deeply love and care for. Dated her for over a year but for months I've been really rude to her and she just got fed up with it. I didn't change, she gave me chances but I just didn't. It wasn't until we broke up that I finally realized, I NEED to change.

She wants to remain friends, but is talking to some other guy that I KNOW she barely met after our break up. She didn't tell me about him, I just found out on my own. She seems to be on the rebound, though they're not dating.
The thing that bothers me is that she said "we can still be friends and one day maybe we'll get back together. You still have a chance".

So I'm stuck here deciding if she's even worth fighting or worth waiting for. I've cut all contact with her, to work on myself and focus on myself. Hope that she misses me during this time period. If not, she'll just grow closer to the rebound. But me staying friends atm is NOT an option, I refuse to be her safety net!

I had my first love to. After one and a half year, I unfortunately got a hint that she was already fucking around with my best friend since 2 weeks. @OP. Been in your postion dude. Was like 2 years ago. I got dumped, and tried to chase the girl harddd. to try and get her back. did not work at all. Just dont contact her, give her space. and see what happens.
