I apologize for the awful image xD

A 14 year old boy from Russia beat his Dad to death while he was sleeping, after he was banned from playing video games. His keyboard was removed by his parents after he'd been playing on his computer for a week. After seeing what the boy had done, his mother gave him back the keyboard, and he played games for several more hours until he fell asleep. At this point, the mother phoned the police. In Russia, he can be charged for murder, despite his young age.

Yes, it's another 'gaming goes horribly wrong' incident, but you can't deny they're becoming more frequent. What I find the worst is how he CONTINUED to game, even after bludgeoning his own father to death, the mother must've been scared to death.

Using the word "children" stereotypes all children as psychotic gaming murderers which isnt true at all. I think the problem is not gaming but parents becoming too lenient with their children. The fact that they allowed him to play it for days before they did anything is ridiculous.

I certainly didn't intend to stereotype, but was simply giving the basic image of a child in the past, compared to some of the children of this time. Though looking at it now, I do notice that it came across in a different manner, in which I do apologize.

Background is, like you said, definitely key when it comes to things like. I think we come to find that the parents who are less lenient, and uphold and enforce rules in their household are the ones that raise well-mannered children, and those that do not are more likely to have a child in which overreacts when something does not go his or her way, though parent leniency does not always have the same effect on all children, as some parents who are very lenient stil have very, very good children.

Thanks for calling me out on that so that I could clarify. Winky Winky

cant understand parents give games like cod to their 12-13 years old kids and they play 24/7 instead of having friends...

They don't give them games to for their child to play 24/7 , its just that it is too easily addictive..

Holy cow, this kid obviously has some serious logic issues. I mean it would stand to reason that this kid was upset because after playing whatever game for a week that game became his whole world, and obviously his parents just didn't understand the importance of that game to him. Now I'm not saying that the child's justified at all by his flawed logic, but I'm sure he was thinking something along those lines.

Hmm, hes a bit stupid, killing someone because of gaming.. its a hobby not a lifestyle, people need to realise this and do more adventurous things.

I'm not surprised the mother gave him his keyboard back,I would be shitting myself aswell if I were her,but she could've at least tried SOMETHING?

I think that kids under 14 should not be allowed to play any games consoles. It would definitely stop this 'stupid child craze' thing, but I doubt this would happen anyway. I feel sorry for the dad, what a way to go :(

Thanks for posting Caspa.

Two blows to the head with a sledge hammer, he died instantly.

What could she do?
