A console hacker has claimed to have noticed an interested string in a .RCO file (system_plugin.rco). The string allegedly states "msg_error_console_hot_pls_restart".
This is supported by the message that states that 'the system has become hot. Please turn off the system and wait a while before turning it on again'.
The hacker believes that Sony could prevent YLOD by having the function to shut down the console when it gets too hot. Instead they supposedly opted against a more effective mechanism so they were able to profit from broken consoles.

there going to make the ps community really mad, like when microsoft started banning. but this will be worst as u could still play games on the xbox just no online
lol, that string makes the ps3 turn off when it gets to a certiain temperature. Not make it get YLOD.
it tells u to turn it off wen it gets too hot not turns off and i think ylod is caused by over heating. but wen i got ylod i never got a error it just turned itself off
