Post: Hacker claims Sony intended for consoles to YLOD

(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); A console hacker has claimed to have noticed an interested string in a .RCO file (system_plugin.rco). The string allegedly states "msg_error_console_hot_pls_restart".

This is supported by the message that states that 'the system has become hot. Please turn off the system and wait a while before turning it on again'.

The hacker believes that Sony could prevent YLOD by having the function to shut down the console when it gets too hot. Instead they supposedly opted against a more effective mechanism so they were able to profit from broken consoles.

That string doesn't cause YLOD. You're all retarded, the guy is trying to point out that Sony could implement safeguards that would prevent YLOD. Yet instead they don't , they want a profit from the servicing.

there is a safe guard I bet you never had ylod well i have it turns off and if you wait sometimes it will be saved and not ylod so think before you post whos retarded

TBH I really don't care what you think, I have had YLOD. It was abrupt in my case and I reserve my right of opinion to call those who misinterpret the article, retarded.

I doubt Sony would even think about doing that, Sony is a trustful company. I still have a surround sound system I bought 7 years ago still works great. I can understand Microsoft trying to pull something like this off but definitely not Sony.

That's what I think anyways.

Sonys lacking the customer support right now. My dad bought a $2800 60' LCD and Sony purposely sells replacement lamps that suck ass for $300 ea. They only last for 4 months.
