Post: Hacker claims Sony intended for consoles to YLOD

(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); A console hacker has claimed to have noticed an interested string in a .RCO file (system_plugin.rco). The string allegedly states "msg_error_console_hot_pls_restart".

This is supported by the message that states that 'the system has become hot. Please turn off the system and wait a while before turning it on again'.

The hacker believes that Sony could prevent YLOD by having the function to shut down the console when it gets too hot. Instead they supposedly opted against a more effective mechanism so they were able to profit from broken consoles.

im pretty shore people would be more pissed off if there game just turned off half way though without saving

imagine playing final fantasy 13 for a few hours and haven't saved then your ps3 shuts down ide hit the fu*king roof

thats why the ps3 doesn't turn itself off and a message comes up

My old system did shut off when it got hot so idk what your talking about
