(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); A console hacker has claimed to have noticed an interested string in a .RCO file (system_plugin.rco). The string allegedly states "msg_error_console_hot_pls_restart".

This is supported by the message that states that 'the system has become hot. Please turn off the system and wait a while before turning it on again'.

The hacker believes that Sony could prevent YLOD by having the function to shut down the console when it gets too hot. Instead they supposedly opted against a more effective mechanism so they were able to profit from broken consoles.

Don't see what you're saying here.

The point of the article is that through that string Sony would be able to prevent consoles from YLOD'ing.

I don't think they intended to break consoles... If they did, wouldn't a PS3 Slim have had YLOD by now?

it tells u to turn it off wen it gets too hot not turns off and i think ylod is caused by over heating. but wen i got ylod i never got a error it just turned itself off
