Sony Can Completely Disable Your PS3
Sony is doing everything in their power to prevent piracy on the PS3. They already said that they would "fix the issues through network updates". They've even sued Geohot and Fail0verflow.
But now they may be aiming the ban hammer at psn users. After all, Sony has way more access to our PS3's then you think. Every time you turn on your PS3 a log gets sent to Sony. This can potentially show them any homebrew apps your running.
But just banning consoles isn't all, we've all known that for awhile. Now, Sony can completely disable your console if they wanted to so, whether you’re online or offline, you PS3 will remain completely nonfunctional.
If Sony can't fix this CFW expect a wave of bans to come. I'm not trying to scare you, just warning you.

If your running 3.55 CFW JB & decide you want to 'Update' to the new 3.56 OFW, I would suggest that you copy your favorite patch's for your Call of Duty title games, or what ever games you like to mod to your HHD using Awesome File Manager or Filezilla. Then after that sign out, disable your PS3 from the internet and delete your PS3s log history (Stuck? Theres .pkgs and Tuts for wipeing your log) after you've cleaned your history while offline, stay offline and delete all your Homebrew apps as they become useless as their written for 3.55 CFW JB. Now re-connect your PS3 to the internet and sign in to the PSN, Now you'll be prompted to download 3.56 OFW, Before you install make sure all Homebrew is gone and PS3 logs have no trace of your Homebrew activity (Just to be safe). Now download and install 3.56 OFW. Once installed load up MW2 and you should still have the modded patch's running, it's what I did and I can still host CL

this.... this is just terrifying...... is xbox making any moves to do the same? or is playstation going to be the first to disable there own systems, if this happens i am deffinetly switching to xbox, **** playstation if they start this shit:mad:

Yes they can ban your MAC address so you can never get online again and possible do a few other things but they would never brick one of their products.

Microsoft has been disabling consoles for awhile now. especially the pirated ones. i know cuz my friend got his disabled 2 yrs ago because a game wasnt stealth patched.
so piracy is piracy, in the end both ends get ****ed

Sony could and probably would ban you from PSN but will not brick your console! Once you give the cashier that money and you take home that console PS3 can't break your console!
