Sony Can Completely Disable Your PS3

Sony is doing everything in their power to prevent piracy on the PS3. They already said that they would "fix the issues through network updates". They've even sued Geohot and Fail0verflow.

But now they may be aiming the ban hammer at psn users. After all, Sony has way more access to our PS3's then you think. Every time you turn on your PS3 a log gets sent to Sony. This can potentially show them any homebrew apps your running.

But just banning consoles isn't all, we've all known that for awhile. Now, Sony can completely disable your console if they wanted to so, whether you’re online or offline, you PS3 will remain completely nonfunctional.

If Sony can't fix this CFW expect a wave of bans to come. I'm not trying to scare you, just warning you.

They would only be able to brick your Playstation by a Firmware Update.

If sony were to "brick" our consoles, we could sue them as it is our intellectual property and if they were to destroy it in anyway, as said, sue time. :catfight:

The bricking would take place in a Firmware Update, not by signing into PSN or anything.
But if they perma-ban your Mac address someone could write up a Mac Spoofer?

Trolling is a art
This is completely illegal, and therefore, I call bullshit on this claim. I have no doubt that they have the ability to do it, but would they ever? No. They would be sued so fast for false advertising it would make their heads spin. They can not purposely disable an end user's console because they paid for it, and if they purposely disable it it would be classified as false advertising for not working as stated.

They cant disable you're system and even if they can they won't because then they will lose lots of costumers, and the PS3 system is already expensive, Sony does not want to lose more than 60% of its costumers, so don't worry.
