Sony Can Completely Disable Your PS3
Sony is doing everything in their power to prevent piracy on the PS3. They already said that they would "fix the issues through network updates". They've even sued Geohot and Fail0verflow.
But now they may be aiming the ban hammer at psn users. After all, Sony has way more access to our PS3's then you think. Every time you turn on your PS3 a log gets sent to Sony. This can potentially show them any homebrew apps your running.
But just banning consoles isn't all, we've all known that for awhile. Now, Sony can completely disable your console if they wanted to so, whether you’re online or offline, you PS3 will remain completely nonfunctional.
If Sony can't fix this CFW expect a wave of bans to come. I'm not trying to scare you, just warning you.

I agree with the people that stated that Sony cannot disable or brick your console since they will go against a lot of policies. It'll create a massive loss in their population and people will just transfer over to the XBox, no? Also, we bought the console and it's our property. They can ban us or anything to prevent us from going online, but they can't completely disable our PS3. That'd be outrageous.
Anyways, I was careful when I had GeoHot's CFW on 3.55 on. I've had it for a good amount of time, but then I decided to move on to 3.56. I'm hoping GeoHot comes back to hacking and releases a jailbreak for 3.56, causing another war against Sony.
I don't dislike Sony, though I think they should take it easy on the bans and stuff. If a person can jailbreak or bypass the restricted files, etc., then it just explains that Sony's employees fail at programming their system.

they cannot "brick" your console they can only disable PSN for you.
its pretty simple the PS3 itself has nothing to do with PSN its the same if you have software on your PC.
you hack a game they ban you from it they dont disable your pc (i know that would be also impossible but even if they could they wouldn't.) that is because it are different things. its, your pc and your ps3
