Sony Can Completely Disable Your PS3
Sony is doing everything in their power to prevent piracy on the PS3. They already said that they would "fix the issues through network updates". They've even sued Geohot and Fail0verflow.
But now they may be aiming the ban hammer at psn users. After all, Sony has way more access to our PS3's then you think. Every time you turn on your PS3 a log gets sent to Sony. This can potentially show them any homebrew apps your running.
But just banning consoles isn't all, we've all known that for awhile. Now, Sony can completely disable your console if they wanted to so, whether you’re online or offline, you PS3 will remain completely nonfunctional.
If Sony can't fix this CFW expect a wave of bans to come. I'm not trying to scare you, just warning you.

They CAN, but it IS illegal, you legally purchased and own that console, you have not broken any laws to obtain that console, and you have not broken any laws using that console, any damage they cause to that console maliciously is vandalism.

so what ur saying is basically they cant brick ur ps3 but cant they ip ban u?? i dont want to get banned man but if we get banned that will mean that they go bankrupt because theve lost customers and they hopefully the people who set up the new update can go die

All of you freaking out about this 'ban' ordeal...Listen. Hart Hanks, a basic contractor who "attempts to fix broke down PS3's, and XBOX's over the phone"...They're the people you'll call when your HD crashes, and need it fixed. (Given you haven't f***ed with the console) My friend sent me an E-Mail that said IW has sent out massive E-Mails to Sony employees because users who received MW2 for Christmas are complaining about the constant hacking and those Challenge Lobbies you all love so much. Point blank, IW said they're not concerned with it right now, as they're working on their next game for the systems. They also strictly pointed out that if ANY Sony employee goes into a modded lobby while using PSN to identify the host, and write down their PSN username, and E-Mail Sony. Be careful. Someone may be watching.

I just hope they get rid of CFW or the ones using it. Every Call of Duty is Now Broken unless you have force host -.- Atleast before only the select few people with actual jailbreaks could do anything of the sort. And new ps3's off shelves should have above 3.41 Firmware. Problem Solved.
