Microsoft Offers Geohot Free Phone

Before I begin note that I'm typing this on my IPhone so bare with any mistakes :p.

Microsoft, creator of the Windows 7 phone has contacted George Hotz and offered him one of their sleek new phones.

Yesterday George said on his blog that he plans to buy one of these new phones. In response, Brandon Watson, an entrepreneur for Microsoft, said the following on Twitter:



We all know what George can do. Let's see if he out does himself this time.

This does get me thinking though. Is Microsoft trying to send a message to Sony? While Sony is suing people they're rewarding hackers and asking for Geohots help.

MS is becoming my favorite company. Approving and helping hackers, while Sony is sueing them.


Please keep in mind, Geohot will NOT be the first person to Jailbreak a(n) Windows phone.

Someone about a week ago, beat him to it, and MS sent him T-Shirt which read....

"I was the first to jailbreak a windows phone, and all I got was this lousy T-Shirt."

MS also highly praised him for accomplishing the jailbreak on their phone.

I guess Xbox knows how to run a business, by taking one company's pain, and turning it into another company's pleasure.

I have always supported Sony over Microsoft buying the PS1, PS2, PSP and PS3 but I think what Sony are trying to do to Geo Hot is ridiculous and am a solid fan of Microsoft for supporting him now and yes I think we should all be able to do what we wish with our consoles, phones etc.
I also don't understand Sony trying to sue Geo Hot after he tried to block piracy with his custom firmware but aren't taking any action against the people who are now making piracy possible

Are u ppl really dumb? Microsoft bans people that live in a city thats has any preference to curses or sexual names when they are actually real. They DISABLE consoles FFS!! Sony is doing this so they dont have to end up like microsoft and banning everyone and watching ur every move.
