Microsoft Offers Geohot Free Phone

Before I begin note that I'm typing this on my IPhone so bare with any mistakes :p.

Microsoft, creator of the Windows 7 phone has contacted George Hotz and offered him one of their sleek new phones.

Yesterday George said on his blog that he plans to buy one of these new phones. In response, Brandon Watson, an entrepreneur for Microsoft, said the following on Twitter:



We all know what George can do. Let's see if he out does himself this time.

This does get me thinking though. Is Microsoft trying to send a message to Sony? While Sony is suing people they're rewarding hackers and asking for Geohots help.

Incase you guys didn't realise, Microsoft bans anyone who JTags or flashes, there hasn't been one reported banning due to new CFWs. Also, Microsoft never sued the guy who jailbroke the Windows Phone because jailbreaking is legal you idiots. So stop saying "z0mg, microsoft supports hax0rs bec0z dey send dem t-shirts". If MS sued the guy, they'd never have a case. The only reason Sony are doing so is because they don't want people playing games for free. Okay?

PR scheme, while Sony is acting like a tight-ass, M$ is gonna take advantage of the situation and act like a buddy to hackers (people who are finding hacks, not employing them). Don't count on it lasting long, this is just M$ trolling Sony.

Don't wanna sound like a broken record, but they definitely want him to find holes in their handset. And alot of the time they can get people to help them out for free by giving them a phone, instead of paying some fresh outta school douche a 6 figure salary to sit at a desk and do it. Especially when GeoHot is clearly superior lol.

Sony is retarded, if they were smart enough they would hire Geohot not sue him. If they know someone could hack there firewall or anything like that, why not hire him so they can figure out what they messed up on and fix it. That's what the FBI does or any high security place, idk why Sony tries to sue him, if every knows how to hack it now, and what are they possibly going to take from him? money? WooHoo! Sony is now hundred thousand dollars richer
