you dont understand fully, LG makes more than washers and dryers and such, they also have companies they own that make parts for blu ray and design stuff. just like HONDA, they make leaf blowers and lawn mowers as well as tvs and cars. its just not something you hear LG doing everyday..and sony has more than enough money to compensate LG for their losses if it comes to that. imagine 20 million consoles x 300 or 400$ and in early times it was 500$ plus...so..they got the bank to back all this, besides they are worth billions besides the ps3, being the biggest maker and seller of electronics..they have more money than god himself.
but it puts sony too much in the spotlight now.
Think you're missing the point Chrome. If this was to go through (which I'm sure it won't, but that removes the point of this thread, we're talking hypothetically) Sony would be in massive trouble. They can't just pay off $16 billion and carry on with their business, something like this could definitely leave the company in ruins, as I'm sure they're already in millions of debt and have other contracts set up which required money.

PlayStation won't go anywhere, they will just owe LG money on every system sold. It will become a less profitable product then it already is, but they are definitely not going to close there doors over a hundred million(plus?).
Have a look at the previos page numbers in this thread, it will be around $16 billion owed to LG, not a hundred million.
