(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); OK since geohot released his hello world I have seen a few questions on how to get into service mode on a 3.55 PS3 and one post that has the wrong tutorial on how to do it.

This tutorial will show you how to get into service mode and out of it on a 3.55 PS3.

This will work with any dongle that allows PS3 downgrading.

Step 1:Insert dongle that has been programmed with the downgrade software into your PS3.

Step 2:Turn on the console using the same boot method as all other jailbreaks: Press power then immediately press eject. Your console will turn on wait a moment.

Step 3: Remove dongle and turn on console and you are in Factory/Service Mode. You will see a huge red box on the screen saying Factory/Service Mode.

Step 4: Now you can do geohots hello world.

Step 5: Now to get out of service mode downlod this file:You must login or register to view this content.

Step 6: Put that file in the root of a usb and insert USB flash drive into the last USB port to the right and power on your PS3. After 10 seconds it will power off.



Remove USB flash drive and turn on your console again. You will be out of Factory/Service mode and back in retail mode

EDIT: WHEN I SAY DONGLE I ALSO MEAN ANY DEVICE THAT ALLOWS DOWNGRADING THIS INCLUDES PORTS FOR PSGRADE ETC.

This is the correct way how to put the ps3 into service mode. Remember don't update firmware in service mode. Keep the .self file that takes the ps3 out of service mode handy.

i have a normal usb, not a downgrade or jailbreak one, so will it work with a normal one??????

So Wht Does Geohots File Do Nothing?

Why do you need service mode ?
im pretty sure that if its signed with sonys signature theres no need for this :S

so its only trying to downgrade 3.55 not sure or what ?? beecause its not dongleless you need the dongle right?
