(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); OK since geohot released his hello world I have seen a few questions on how to get into service mode on a 3.55 PS3 and one post that has the wrong tutorial on how to do it.

This tutorial will show you how to get into service mode and out of it on a 3.55 PS3.

This will work with any dongle that allows PS3 downgrading.

Step 1:Insert dongle that has been programmed with the downgrade software into your PS3.

Step 2:Turn on the console using the same boot method as all other jailbreaks: Press power then immediately press eject. Your console will turn on wait a moment.

Step 3: Remove dongle and turn on console and you are in Factory/Service Mode. You will see a huge red box on the screen saying Factory/Service Mode.

Step 4: Now you can do geohots hello world.

Step 5: Now to get out of service mode downlod this file:You must login or register to view this content.

Step 6: Put that file in the root of a usb and insert USB flash drive into the last USB port to the right and power on your PS3. After 10 seconds it will power off.



Remove USB flash drive and turn on your console again. You will be out of Factory/Service mode and back in retail mode

Hmm, what's the point in having homebrew which is only useful in service mode? I thought the key allowed us to sign our own software to the PS3 without doing anything because it tricks it into thinking it's a verified piece of sony's software?

didnt know you could install stuff whilst in service mode

ok so lets get summit said straight out with these keys you take your cfw, homebrew, game backup , emulator or whatever, do summit fancy on the pc( add the keys to programme) then put it on usb/dvd/bluray and just put it in the ps3 right, cos there seems a lot of confusion on this, with the key you dont need a hacked/jailbroken ps3 cos youve got the keys is this a fair assumtion

Guys this .self is no big deal it is only proof that we can get homebrew on 3.55 we were already able to get in and out of service mode just not downgrade on 3.55 but as far as the keys go its everything we need just have some patience and watch everything happen i mean unless you can do it yourself.

Between step 2 and step 3 are we supposed to turn off the PS3? Not sure how to turn on my PS3 when it's already on.

So i do this with a signed FTP server and then put the file 2 self on my root usb and its on my PS3 and out of service mode?
