(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); OK since geohot released his hello world I have seen a few questions on how to get into service mode on a 3.55 PS3 and one post that has the wrong tutorial on how to do it.

This tutorial will show you how to get into service mode and out of it on a 3.55 PS3.

This will work with any dongle that allows PS3 downgrading.

Step 1:Insert dongle that has been programmed with the downgrade software into your PS3.

Step 2:Turn on the console using the same boot method as all other jailbreaks: Press power then immediately press eject. Your console will turn on wait a moment.

Step 3: Remove dongle and turn on console and you are in Factory/Service Mode. You will see a huge red box on the screen saying Factory/Service Mode.

Step 4: Now you can do geohots hello world.

Step 5: Now to get out of service mode downlod this file:You must login or register to view this content.

Step 6: Put that file in the root of a usb and insert USB flash drive into the last USB port to the right and power on your PS3. After 10 seconds it will power off.



Remove USB flash drive and turn on your console again. You will be out of Factory/Service mode and back in retail mode

EDIT: WHEN I SAY DONGLE I ALSO MEAN ANY DEVICE THAT ALLOWS DOWNGRADING THIS INCLUDES PORTS FOR PSGRADE ETC.

so wats the point, i still need to buy a jailbrea/downgrade device, i thought u can sign anything, does this mean if people do release cfw or homebrews im gonna have to get a jailbreak/downgrade usb to put my ps3 in service mode, is their no possible way to get in service mode without jailbreak/downgrade, i thought that was the main point of these keys, ughhhhh

It creates a blank file on your USB called geohot.txt.

lol people if u didnt know how to do this or new what it did/facepalm

his file takes you out of service mode if i read right if you put ps3 on 3.55 fw in service mode it will keep it on service mode and his file takes you back to a retail mode

so, i could put it on Normal USB !! not dongle as it said in the website .. of geohot , and would i make the files i downloaded to .self or what?

whats with all the *? xD what word is being censored?

and by saying any dongle, you mean a psjailbreak device from a website, or a calculator, ipod, andriod?
plus its like doing it from 3.41fw service mode?
