I personally tested this with another account, and I can confirm that loading all of these saves should get you really, really close to a platinum. Aside from a couple trophies that take less than two hours to get. Just load up the saves, and then see what you have left. It should be pretty straightforward from there.

Not really, not without the help of someone that has GT5 and FTP.
The XMB checks the save and will report that it is corrupted, which is why you need FTP. But if a friend has it, they can mod the save with FTP, do something in GT5 that triggers it to save again, then it can be exported via the XMB and get imported by yourself properly as the save process renders it XMB-acceptable once again.
On a different point, can anyone remember what save has the 20 million credits in it? I want to use it to do the dream race trophy.

So, in saying that, has anyone made one of these saves? If so, it would be great to see for people like me who dont want to jailbreak their console

It cant be done on their own account. They would need to add your account to their console so they can prepare the saves for you, otherwise GT5 would just kick up the error that the save is from another user.
I tried this on a fresh account with no PSN account attached in the hope that the lack of a PSN in the save would be acceptable to GT5 when loading it in - But that was not happening either.
But.. I do have 2 friends' accounts on my console and have been able to prepare them saves that run on their accounts perfectly fine.
And now I am doing it that way for myself too as that console cannot sign in to PSN.
