Post: Is Xbox holding the PS3 back?

(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); So, as some of you may know, the Battlefield 3 trailers have been showing off some amazing graphics and gameplay, but that is only for the PC version, and then it will be dumbed down for the PS3 and Xbox 360.

Well, what I wonder is that would the Ps3 be able to handle graphics and gameplay like what Battlefield 3 is showing off? Is the Xbox, which is leading in sales, and what is thought of when most people think of consoles, holding the PS3 back.

If the Xbox weren't here, do you think that Dice may have tried to make the PS3 version look as good as the PC version. I think that the PS3 version could definitely look better than the Xbox version, no doubt about that, but as far as whether or not it would hold all that data that the PC versino will, I don't know. Killzone 3 is the first game that has used all the PS3 processing power, and that game doesn't seem like it is as advanced as the PC version of BF3.

But, is Killzone 3 using the processing power in different ways than BF3? Could we be getting some really great games taken away from us because of, for lack of a better word, Xbox's inferiority?

Now, I am not trying to start a console flame war, just stating my thoughts and thinking out loud here. What do you guys think about this issue? Are we going to be robbed of a better looking BF3 because of the inadequacies of the Xbox?

Killzone 3 uses sooo many polygon's, but Guerilla can do that since it's an exclusive. When a game is for more than one system, it has to be equal, or else gamers will buy the better version, and that would hurt the worse system. To answer your question, xbox is holding the ps3 back, but only a little.

Thst's what they said about Black Ops.

The PS3 isn't holding the Xbox back... You got it all wrong... The PS3 may have awesome specs, but the console is so poorly coded, it's harder to make games run faster.

Go on Black Ops on PS3 and Xbox, Split Screen. Have 2 players and get a Gunship or Chopper Gunner in it. The PS3 version lags like crazy, losing lots of frames while the Xbox still goes strong. The PS3 is no way any better then the Sega system.

So if they did have to tone it down for PS3, why does it lose so many frames if they already toned down the game?

It all depends on what game the 2 consoles are running the xbox 360 plays some games alot better than ps3 just take a look at crysis 2.

PS3 was confirmed the more powerful unit according to Crytek, I even found screen-shots comparing the 2 and PS3 visually looks the stronger platform.

Here's You must login or register to view this content. info, the 360 had a total Frame Tearing rate of 1.69% in Single-Player, and 2% in Multi-Player, while the PS3 had Zero Frame Tearing in both!

I guarantee if black ops had been separately coded to use all the ps3's power it would blow the xbox version out of the water.
