So we all know how EA & Activision have been butting heads to be the best first-person shooter out there. But did you know that EA is putting $100 million into making Battlefield 3 better than the Call of Duty franchise?

According to the You must login or register to view this content., EA CEO John Riccitiello announced this investment in New York. He said that it will positively beat down the HIGHLY anticipated Modern Warfare 3. If they're putting this much money into topping one of the best first-person shooters of all time, let's hope it's worth it.

In my opinion, I think a game that took over $100 million to make should be worth it. I mean, a lot of people love Battlefield, but even more people love Call of Duty. So it's going to be a tough match for EA.

I think BF2 was better than MW2. I suspect most people will turn to BF3 this holiday season and find what COD has been missing for a while.

ok lets break down your post here buddy........ First EA has never really failed at any game that they have made... all there games are good.. just some people like COD better... next GO IW your a dumbass IW has nothing todo with MW3 ... what is left of IW is helping Sledge Hammer games make the Single Player...and Raven Software is making the MP... all the great minds that brought you Call of Duty ... as well as COD 4 and MW2 now work at Respawn Entertainment FOR EA.... so to me if Raven Software doesnt do something big MW3 will suck because all of Raven Software's MPs that they have done have sucked

but every cod since cod4 has been pretty much same MP so pretty sure it will be hard for them to ruin it unless they remske the MP from scratch which i doubt they would. but i think battlefield 3 will be better

yes EA failed hard with m.o.h. and there servers suck ass., the rights to the mordern warfare lie with Iw not sledge hammer,Third Raven software is being brough in for there stunning visual effect nothing more nothing less. any thing eles u care to get wrong?

I too heard that Raven was just going to be there for improving visual effects.. But in all honestly, no matter how terrible MW3 turns out to be, millions will buy it just because it's the closest new thing to the same game we've all been playing for years now. As long as IW realizes that people DO NOT want change, then they should have no problem beating BF3 out.

Yeah, I'm probably going to get both just to compare the two & maybe make a review.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare publisher Activision has repeatedly stated that Infinity Ward is doing fine since heads Vince Zampella and Jason West were ousted from the company early last year. A report on the LA Times' Company Town blog, however, tells a different story -- according to the piece, both Sledgehammer Games and Raven Software have been tasked with helping develop the next, still unannounced Modern Warfare title, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3.

"People familiar with the situation" claim that Sledgehammer is working with the remaining staff at Infinity Ward on developing the game's single-player campaign, while Singularity developer Raven Software is in charge of bringing up the multiplayer side of things. The sources also contend that, like past Call of Duty titles, MW3 is expected to ship this November. Additionally, Sledgehammer is said to have halted production on its own spinoff Call of Duty title in order to help IW out.

Update: Activision issued a comment in response to the LAT piece, stating, "There's been much specultion recently. We look forward to releasing details for the next Call of Duty in the near future."

IW has nothing todo with the game... they are helping Sledge hammer with single player..... they have nothing todo with MP side as they dont have enough people to work on a game anymore... all the heads and leads from MW2 left and went to Respawn Entertainment.. which is working for EA
