(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); So my father in law(lady's father), builds and maintains government network servers. He told us on sunday that if he owned the psn it would be up on tuesday, have already caught the hacker(s) himself then warned all users of the network that he was going to start charging for the usage of PSN just like XBL.

Then he said, but since he doesn't own it, that the PSN will most likely be completely restored, without the hacker(s) being caught on the following tuesday. With more security precautions that they have to pay for so they will most likely will start charging users just like XBL.

Besides: "cool story bro".

What i'm actually looking for is:

If the PSN does start to charge but their servers are more up to par as XBL's are. Would you stay with ps3 and pay for the subscription, or would you say eff it and just switch to Xbox, because their servers are already up to par?

IMO, I think that it would be more worthwhile to pay for the subscription, see if things are better for alittle while, connection wise. If not I'll purchase xboxes and keep the ps3's just for the first party releases and play all the third party releases, on the xboxes.

Hello PC

personal gaming computers are so high priced it isn't funny. you may say that now, until you are actually trying to build a pc built for online gaming. i'm talking upwards of 2000 dollars, good luck with your switch

i understand that at the moment the connections on xbl are better than the psn's. but if psn made the change to charging and then made their connections and servers better wouldn't it be pointless to make the switch?

it would because either way your paying money and for what? it becomes a fanboy war question per say. thats what it really boils down too, at the moment we all know that xbl servers are better than psn's right now anyways, because you pay for them to keep those servers intact. your getting what you pay for. we don't pay so it didnt' matter how well our servers were intact on the psn. but if we are paying and they are fixing their servers to function more properly, why bother to make the switch??

It lives, my 360 is back
It's not about the service, it's about the games. Just because PSN is down doesn't mean I'm going to run out and get my 360 fixed (faulty as **** laser).

I've only ever wanted to play 4 Xbox 360 games that have online multiplayer (there are other exclusive 360 exclusive games but without any online component) and they are Halo 3/Reach/ODST, plus Splinter Cell Conviction.

I want them for their offline story, so **** paying £40 a year to play online when I'd never go online anyway. Better to pay the money on the console I prefer playing, the PS3, as I have more games, movies, friends, waste my time doing trophies (rather than achievements) and prefer the console overall.

I've owned pretty much every console over the last 20 years (didn't own the Sega Saturn) so I'm not being a fanboy in my choice to put any money for online in Sony's pocket.

Who says Xbox has better connection? Me, as owner of both consoles, BOTH have lags... sometimes I even say PS3 has less, but when I go back to PS3 I say it is equal. Some times companies like Activision & Micro$oft pay the developers so that Xbox 360 can have slightly better servers or bad port, but still like that, the lag on Xbox 360 is not worse/better than PS3 (for multi-platform games). Obviously PS3 exclusives run so smooth that even uploading videos to youtube won't make your connection lag... I remember I did that with KZ3, U2 etc.
