( when in party press select and make sure " SEARCH PREFERENCES " is set to " LOCALE ONLY " )

1) find a game you want to play (can be wager match if you like)

2) when you click x on the game type wait for it to say 0:10 " Found XX Matches.... Getting Match Quality...." then turn ON your lag switch

3) leave your switch ON untill it says " Waiting For X More Players.... " ( or if it does what it did to me in the video 0:25, just do what i did )

4) wait for people to join your game

5) when ppl join get ready to flick your switch to save host from migration like in video @ 1:45

6) enjoy your game as host

Thanks for this I know it will help some people who are trying to get there switch working for the first time.

can i get help when it says found 50 matches getting match quality i flip it on and after 4 seconds it says ethernet cable not detected and it doesn't say wating for more players it just keeps saying getting match quality

You have to edit your Internet settings. 10 base fill duplex and 1500 mtu then u will b ok

ok i did that and it works but now whenever i flip my lag switch it says ethernet cable is not connected

I have my lagswitch running between my modem and my router and I have another eithernet cable running from my router to my PS3 and I have my internet for my ps3 set to wired and not wireless.

with it set up this way I can follow the steps you mention and no matter when I do it always takes me back to the 50 potential matches message.

when I try running the lag switch between my router and my PS3.....as soon as I hit the lag switch my ps3 displays a message that says "network cable unplugged".

should I have the lag switch running between my modem and router or my router and PS3?

should I have my internet settings on my PS3 set to wired or wireless?

are there any specific internet settings on the PS3 that should be change? and if so......to what?

I followed your video to the T and no luck.

I have done lag switching before on COD 4 but the only way I could get host then was normally by luck when playing cage match or in other matches by turning on a internet speed test on my computer that would lag my bandwidth down and trick the call of duty servers.

but if the lag switch way of getting host proves to work than it would be a much easier way.

I don't want it so much to work so I can get free kills because I am pretty good and already have a good KDR but sometimes there are nights where game after game you get stuck playing a game where someone with crap internet is host and its annoying to shoot someone in the face and not get a hitmarker LOL.

I also tried changing the duplex and MTU like you mentioned to another member and no difference in how effective it is.

also you did not make it clear but it looks like in your video that you had someone in your party when you did this trick.

is a necessary to have someone in your party when trying to pull this off or can it be done by yourself?

following what you instructed..... I can get the following to happen....

when I click on a game type to start, as soon as I see 50 matches found I turn my lag switch ON and I wait for it to say joining X amount on matches.

at which point I flick my lag switch off and on as the number of games it attempts to join slowly drops.

when it gets to one joining 1 match...I turn my lag switch OFF and leave it off.

but it never takes me into a room I am host of....it almost immediately either migrates me into someone elses lobby or it will take me back to the 50 matches found message.

any help on this?

Your really close. When u get it to 1 potential match leave ur switch ON and don't turn it off till it says waiting for x players. It does not matter if u have ppl in ur party or not. That was just a rondom guy in the vid. This works with a full party or by yourself

When it says Getting match quality leave your switch ON till u get waiting for x players. Or trying to join x matches
