Sick of idiotic teenagers trolling Call of Duty? Well, you're boned, because Treyarch has no interest in keeping the kids away from its games.

"I think it should be handled by the ratings board. I don't know a tremendous amount about UK ratings boards, but I do know that you have to be of that age to purchase the content, and if parents want to let their kids play it's completely at their discretion," said community manager Josh Olin. "I get where you're coming from, it's that maybe the kids are more obnoxious to deal with - but hey, they want to have their fun too, so I don't want to kill that for them."

While it would be easy to rage at Olin for these comments, I find them refreshingly honest. It's not often a developer would admit that kids play a distinctly non-kiddy game, and go so far as to state that it's not the studio's problem -- which it isn't, really.

Of course, this doesn't help the people who have to put up with morons on Xbox Live, but I admire a studio that doesn't pretend to give a crap when it distinctly doesn't. It's better than paying insincere lip service, at any rate.

Can’t trickshot me!
i think its fine that they are not interested because either way you need a parent or guardian to get the game and the fact that a majority of kids own gaming consoles

By makeing the mic explode if the person is under 17? I say either use party chat or if on ps3/not in a party mute them.

It all about the parents... gaming companies are huge business, not nannies concerned about the future and education of children.. they will do what they have to do to increase their profits.

business is business... e.g. the war against terrorism. What do you think is for? Claps

Put it this way. If you had the opportunity to make $300,000,000 off of a game would you really care if younger kids played it all the time? Or would you rather lose $250,000,000 to make sure only mature people play the game??

That's where Treyarch and Activision are coming from. Smile
