Just to save your time, you do know that the HDD method doesn't work...

It's checksummed, your getting a black screen because the checksum doesn't match. The checksum isn't stored on the HDD. So you cant exactly change it, even if it was. How would you find out the checksum algo?

You can view and access the files via the HDD but not change them. Everyone seems to think because of a post on PS3-NEWS that it has something to do with the HDD. Right now, I'm just tired of reading all this.

The method me and Hunter currently use will probably be getting patched in 3.40 (sigh), meaning we would have kept biggest secret going.

So guys, I suggest you stop downloading ps3 hdd studio and stop buying sata cables because this is not the way. If you guys want to figure this out, your gonna have to find a way to re-write the offsets of the patch to the right places on the hdd and figure a way of getting the edited patch back onto the ps3. Also I suggest starting with CoD4 or W@W, as MW2 seems to be harder.. also hunter did not begin with MW2..

Its painfully obvious Unkn0wn is attempting to throw everyone off track; how do I know? Simple:

#1 These hacks are not new, this stuff has been around since CoD4, you even said it yourself in the first post Fletcher. CoD's core programming has not changed much over the years, its just evolved, meaning the hack is the same.

#2 As someone else mentioned, his "little bird" hack is exactly the same as it is in the iHc patch creator program, which has been around a hell of a lot longer than MW2 eexploits on the PS3.

#3 This "HDD" method we're all attempting is the exact same way its being done on Xbox (not exactly the same, but as far as editing the patch). They JTAG their box, and mod a patch. Where is the patch stored on your PS3? Not on your flash drive, not on your bluetooth headset, and no, not on your SD card. Its stored on your HDD and thats exactly what you need to do to hack the game, decrypt the damn thing, find the patch file, and edit it.

Its not a hard concept to grasp, and the main reason so many people have not done this yet is simply because you cannot do it on v3.30 firmware, meaning you would need an older PS3, something barely anyone (especially on a website designed for online cheating/glitching [who would need the latest firmware to even play online]) would have.

Youre right he is just trying to get us from the track.. Because unknowns comment also says; "only 20$ psn card" he knows that the modded lobbies are comming soon, so he wants the money before its going to get released and will be free.

after playing with HDD for few weeks now, I got moddes patch freeze up or black screen... I start to think... the unknown, hunter and few others who has hack this mw2 patch is using ps3 sdk, developer ps3, homebrew ps3 or a secret software to get mod lobby working and maybe using proxy server to upload the patch into ps3 3.30...

as far as this hack getting patch....it is going to be very hard, because they are hacking the patch or the iso itself...I can see sony may start banning people just xbox thats all...
