Okay, here's what I never really understood from you console users. Time to do some basic math.
PS3 = $299
What it includes = (Varies from place to place. Let's just say you get a free game worth $60)
Okay. So we have a PS3 that you purchased for $300 and a game worth $60. So we'll say $300 - $60 effectively making your purchase only $240.
Okay. Now. I assume you are typing this on a computer of some sort. Average computer costs we'll say is around $600. Maybe more, maybe less. So you have effectively just spend a total of $840.
It's not over yet. Let's say you want to buy xbox live or PS+. Okay, let's add $50. So we're at $890.
Next, let's say you want to buy your Bo2, Cod4, Mw2, BO, BF3, AC3, Borderlands 2 and Far Cry 3.
Total Costs for all of these games (Console: Ps3 @ Gamestop)
$335.00
So we are now arriving at the price of $1225.
Okay, now let's get a PC with all of these games and compare the performance for both of these machines.
The games that I mentioned above PC cost: $335.00 (Mw2 and Cod 4 were slightly more expensive, BF3, AC3 and FC3 were a little cheaper)
Okay so we have a $1225 - $335.00 = $890.00
Now what can we build for $900? Well I can tell you we can build a machine that will wipe the floor with any console. Here is just one example:

Yep. GTX 680 with an 8-Core. If you argue a console beating this, well, we're going to have some problems.
PC gaming is superior in almost every single way. Sorry, but I won't be returning to consoles in quite a long time.
Edit: And I lol at those people who constantly say that it's "sooooo hard and time consuming" to get into PC gaming and how it's "absolutely impossible" to learn how to build a PC. Sorry, but you people are possibly the most annoying people on the planet when it comes to gaming. You want to be spoonfed with everything. It's almost like you DON'T want to learn anything. Grab a book, educate yourself, buy the parts, sit down for one hour and build the damn PC. You gain experience, it makes you feel good, and you saved yourself a lot of money too. I cannot possibly even begin to comprehend how people can find building computers difficult. Have you ever played with legos when you were little? Okay, take 10 lego pieces and stick them together. It's not hard. It baffles me to see how people are this ignorant on this topic. PC gaming is much more enjoyable. Once you get a mouse and keyboard you won't want to ever go back. You will wish that you have switched earlier.
I used to be a console user. I really was. I thought that PC gaming was a joke and that it was absolutely impossible to use a mouse and keyboard. Now when I turn back my console it's like I'm using a Pentium with a 8600GT in it playing Half Life. From 1998. Seriously. There's no AA and the games just look God awful. The bigger the screen gets the worse it looks. I'm honestly glad that I switched sooner rather than later.
End rant ^^
