(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); Seeing as there's a thread for the US Democrat & Republican parties... I thought it would be a good idea to make a politics related thread for here in the UK. I thought having 1 thread would increase the debates and discussion.

So yeah, talk about it here. Smile

If you don't know much about UK politics, we currently have a coalition government between the Tories & the Lib Dems (Tories didn't get the majority of votes). The four main parties are:

Conservatives - British Conservatism, British Unionism, Eurosceptism -You must login or register to view this content.

Labour - Democratic Socialism, Support the working class -You must login or register to view this content.

Liberal Democrat - Social & Green Liberalism, Internationalism, Social Democracy, Left Libertarianism -You must login or register to view this content.

UKIP - Eurosceptism, Libertarianism, Traditional Conservatism - You must login or register to view this content.

There's also parties such as BNP who are right wing, BNP in particular are very anti-immigration, SNP & Plaid Cymru who focus on independence for their constituent countries, as well as other parties such as the Green party who support British Republicanism

Whether you agree with the EDL's policies or not there wasn't a single solitary law that he had broke in order to get arrested not to mention he was assaulted in the process. Is it any wonder why there are divisions in society when simple things as laying down a wreath warrants arrest simply because of what the EDL leader stands against? Turn the tables and I doubt a Muslim leader would have been arrested, 2nd rate citizens in our own country. Freedom in Britain - year 2013.

"I disapprove of what you say, but I will defend to the death your right to say it," - Voltaire

Another perspective to this is why are the news corporations including the BBC grilling and smearing the EDL at every opportunity yet they aren't documenting anything about a more violent & radical force designed to smother democracy/freedom of speech, that is the UAF. When will the BBC ridiciule them & explain why the likes of Cameron, livingston & abott support them?

Following is from from Andrew Giligans UAF article on the telegraph:

Azad Ali, As well as his UAF role, which
he took up last year, Mr Ali is community affairs coordinator of the Islamic
Forum of Europe, a Muslim supremacist group dedicated to changing “the very
infrastructure of society, its institutions, its culture, its political
order and its creed from ignorance to Islam”.

Of course the BBC won't document this will they?

He does make a good point, although I don't support the EDL I do see why people would support them. I'll private message you a video which I found to be pretty shocking.

I don't care what religion, race or nationality they are, if they don't want to respect our country and our people then they can go somewhere else.

Do you use this reasoning whenever 'our own' people present dissenting views or only when those of foreign descent do it?

Of course! If they preach on streets saying how much they hate us and tell us we'll all burn in hell then why don't they find somewhere else to live?

Because there happen to be a lot of them who don't want us all to burn in hell but rather just want political change which is something they've a right to strive towards.

Besides, how would you legally work out sending someone elsewhere for what I would imagine in an ideal world would still be covered under freedom of speech? The logistics of that sort of proposal... what a nightmare.

Come to think of it I reckon there are plenty of Catholics doing exactly as you describe... white, English, Catholics... want to deport them too?

You're putting words in my mouth here. First of all, I didn't mention anything about deporting people. I clearly stated that I don't understand why people who preach hate and show no respect for our land or our people don't just leave. I'm not saying they should be forcefully made to leave unless their actions are extreme.

You completely mis-understand me, I'm not talking about people who simply want some kind of political change, I'm talking the people who protest on the streets showing clear hate for Britain and British people.

As long as you don't actually propose we deport people (yes, plenty actually think that would work, including our home secretary... this country's a mess!) then fine, yeah, I did misunderstand you. Fair enough.
