(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); Seeing as there's a thread for the US Democrat & Republican parties... I thought it would be a good idea to make a politics related thread for here in the UK. I thought having 1 thread would increase the debates and discussion.

So yeah, talk about it here. Smile

If you don't know much about UK politics, we currently have a coalition government between the Tories & the Lib Dems (Tories didn't get the majority of votes). The four main parties are:

Conservatives - British Conservatism, British Unionism, Eurosceptism -You must login or register to view this content.

Labour - Democratic Socialism, Support the working class -You must login or register to view this content.

Liberal Democrat - Social & Green Liberalism, Internationalism, Social Democracy, Left Libertarianism -You must login or register to view this content.

UKIP - Eurosceptism, Libertarianism, Traditional Conservatism - You must login or register to view this content.

There's also parties such as BNP who are right wing, BNP in particular are very anti-immigration, SNP & Plaid Cymru who focus on independence for their constituent countries, as well as other parties such as the Green party who support British Republicanism

As long as you don't actually propose we deport people (yes, plenty actually think that would work, including our home secretary... this country's a mess!) then fine, yeah, I did misunderstand you. Fair enough.

Haha, it's fine

In the Telegraph today... MPs have voted for a law promising an EU referendum by 2017. The results? errrr

Shocking, it's amazing how these silly organisations attack UKIP when they aren't even vaguely associated with fascism. They are brainwashed, and they are guilty of the common misconception that anybody who questions immigration is immediately xenophobic and racist.

I'm not too sure really, what I can say is I don't think it should be completely open for anyone to enter, I think we should limit it to people who can help our economy and provide the skills we lack as a country (of course that's not the extent of people who I think we should allow but the net migration needs to be cut by a lot). The UK has a dense population, a lack of jobs and a high youth unemployment rate, so limiting immigration (even if it's just for a certain period of time) will help us economically. Basically, I'm not against it completely but I feel that there should be a restriction of some shape or form to help relieve pressure on public services, jobs etc. but not restricting it to the extent that Australia have.

Alright, so what do we do with all the immigrants already here? All 500,000 (rough estimate) of them? And the ones who were born here to illegal immigrants, who still technically qualify as illegal immigrants despite having nothing to do with it themselves?

It won't :p
Economic trouble was caused by bad policy in dealing with a financial crisis.
High youth unemployment rate is a sign of that. The system we did have was working fine with limits already in place. Couple pages back I posted a couple dozen studies showing it, I can find some more new ones if you wish a couple came out :p

After a quick google along with some more research I'm all for open migration system.

Find out who they are and put them on the first plane back. If they're illegal then they have no place in our society, who knows what crimes they have committed in their country of origin and how will they benefit us? They won't.

One thing that needs to be changed is the required years to become a full British national even if temporarily because as it stands illegal immigrants by law are becoming British nationals because the government can't get through the backlog that they have neglected for years.
