Sony Can Completely Disable Your PS3

Sony is doing everything in their power to prevent piracy on the PS3. They already said that they would "fix the issues through network updates". They've even sued Geohot and Fail0verflow.

But now they may be aiming the ban hammer at psn users. After all, Sony has way more access to our PS3's then you think. Every time you turn on your PS3 a log gets sent to Sony. This can potentially show them any homebrew apps your running.

But just banning consoles isn't all, we've all known that for awhile. Now, Sony can completely disable your console if they wanted to so, whether you’re online or offline, you PS3 will remain completely nonfunctional.

If Sony can't fix this CFW expect a wave of bans to come. I'm not trying to scare you, just warning you.

The logs are sent when you sign in to PSN.

i dont see what's all the rage about. i got an iphone thats jailbroken. so im using that as presedence. iphone didnt get "bricked" so im assuming my ps3 wont get "bricked" either. i also read that geohot dodged the lawsuit from apple for jailbreaking iphone. which means there's gotta be a loophole somewhere. otherwise gehot wouldnt inadvertently get us all banned by going public with this homebrew cfw movement.

They stay in the legal right as long as all they do is remove/disable Sony software and firmware, which would make the PS3 SEEM completely useless, but if you knew what you were doing, you could flash a new OS on to it and use it as a computer (Kinda like otherOS, but it would be more like OnlyOS). So it's EFFECTIVELY disabled, but not literally. (You wouldn't be able to use it as a PS3 anymore, that's for sure)

Exactly, when you disconnect from the internet, you can't sign into your psn.

Worth the Weight
LOL @ All the idiots who think that this will hurt their sales. OK, SO IMAGINE THIS: Lets just let the hackers do everything to our system, and do nothing about it because we will loose money.

No. Whoever bought a Ps3 just to hack, is well, a failure. It's like we depend on it to have fun, if thats so, go buy a decent PC, and hack on that, PC is the most simple P.O.S to hack on. Don't be a lazy asshole, and expect to have Sony just sit there doing nothing while their system is being hacked and modified as we speak.

Let me tell you this: They will hit the hackers, and they will hit them hard. To that I say, GF hackers and GF CFW.

Now, I know this is a "hacking" website. The main reason why hackers started hacking was to do it offline, to have fun themselves, and not ruin the game for millions of people. If you find joy in other peoples misery, you sir, are the biggest loser who walked the earth, and deserve to get Ban-hammered, and Ban-hammered hard.

Look forward to the day Sony fixes these problems.

Wouldnt that be illegal though for sony to intentionally break our counsels? Im pretty sure it is. Honestly if sony breaks my counsel i will be filing a law suit against Sony Computer Entertainment USA

Sony should never ban any ps3 member, thats just wrong, even the hacking is wrong i agree with the that to, if it was anything to disable it should be the illegal software? its sony fault for the letting the software access the ps3 ?

thats personally what i think anyway....
