Sony Can Completely Disable Your PS3
Sony is doing everything in their power to prevent piracy on the PS3. They already said that they would "fix the issues through network updates". They've even sued Geohot and Fail0verflow.
But now they may be aiming the ban hammer at psn users. After all, Sony has way more access to our PS3's then you think. Every time you turn on your PS3 a log gets sent to Sony. This can potentially show them any homebrew apps your running.
But just banning consoles isn't all, we've all known that for awhile. Now, Sony can completely disable your console if they wanted to so, whether you’re online or offline, you PS3 will remain completely nonfunctional.
If Sony can't fix this CFW expect a wave of bans to come. I'm not trying to scare you, just warning you.

They can because it violates the there policy(Terms and conditions)by changing or mogifying the PS3, so legaly they have the right to brick your system.

Im sure it is completely legal for them to do that. I'm not for Sony banning consoles, but a company as big as Sony doing something illegal? I mean seriously.... Somewhere in the TOS or EULA or whatever it gives Sony the right to "Console Ban." I bet 75% or more of the people here never even bother to read those. Yes, including me. I just wanted to throw that out there.

I'd like to see Sony try and ban the people using cfw. why? because they want to make profit and banning people from using there ps3 is no way of going about it. THEY BAN US WE BAN THEM

It is illegal for them to disable your console. You paid for it and you can do whatever you want with it. Although, it is legal for them to ban your console from the PSN, but you will still be able to play offline.
