So what I'm guessing is that you can't just fake the firmware version to update your PS3, something else has to be involved in the PS3's update. If anyone knows how to get past that error maybe we would be able to get 3.41 as a firmware above 3.50 :confused:

The reason why I didn't wanna tell how I tricked the PS3 into thinking it was a 3.51 is because it was a pretty stupid idea.
Just go to 00000010 and 06 and 07 and change those.
(The second line of the file in HxD anyway) I changed mine to B5 and 57
I believe they are AF EF in 3.41 when looking through the hex editor.
Yeah. Pretty simple change lol. But there was more stuff I found in the firmware file though >_> (More 3.41 version numbers you have to change)
