(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); So anyways... I was messing around with the 3.41 firmware file and finally got the PS3 to detect my 3.41 firmware file as a 3.51

So what I'm guessing is that you can't just fake the firmware version to update your PS3, something else has to be involved in the PS3's update. If anyone knows how to get past that error maybe we would be able to get 3.41 as a firmware above 3.50 :confused:

Why am I not surprised TheUnkn0wn accomplished that? I think that if someone looks into a debug pkg and a retail of the same program, patch, etc. They may see differences which may be the digital signature, however if that error is with the USB stick then maybe firmware isn't signed, which means sony ****ed up big time, but think about this, if Geohot's CFW was real, how did he install it? Similar concept?
