I mean it will make it really easy for "noobs" to just hack their ps3.
Someone else will do the work and effortlessly everyone else can now do it.
For all the people who have bought 3.41 ps3s they have wasted their money. ( until sony patch it)

Many people will do this to host hacked lobbies but those who charge people will now have less customers as so many people will do this and they will now be loads more people hosting.

In the long term running homebrew apps will be cool to do on a 3.55 but im not sure

That's the same thing that happened to the PSP. Its going to happen regardless of what you think. Some do(devs) the work, others just use(leech) their work. its the cycle of the net man. Good luck on Sony patching this massive mistake(sarcasm ftw).

Im pretty sure sony could patch it somehow? like relese a firmware update which stops you updating by storage devices? or stops you updating 3.55 to another 3.55

WE have the keys to sign shit, that means its from sony, meaning sony signed it theres no way past this unless.

Ps4 comes out with some serious shit that cant be hacked.

They make a whitelist of things thats allowed with a full firmware update THAT IS NEEDED if its not your ps3 is rendered useless when we download some game or someshit that renders them useless.

Sony could sue anyone that gives out the modded firmware

In theory Sony could patch if they do a massive overrun patching every game out today all DLC ,Demos etc with a new private key and a new firmware update Doubt it and they couldn't stop us using USB Devices to update. That would leave people without Internet (Stone Age People) Unable to update.

too late its impossible for them to patch it even if they bought out software updates there are going to be bypasses

i think most noobs will make challenge lobby, but others will go bigger than a few 12 year old challenge lobbys, also the devs should not make back up manager as people will steal sonys money, we just need to show sony we can stand on our own 2 feet, so if no one makes a back up manager and no pirateing, then maybe in future sony will let us make own home brews and cfws but disableing back up manager, if u cant afford the games then u cant afford the ps3 so their is no excuse to pirate games

and even if they did another way would be found to add in the update and also if they were to stop you from updating 3.55 to 3.55 then the CFW Devs could just change the FW version to 3.60 etc
