I mean it will make it really easy for "noobs" to just hack their ps3.
Someone else will do the work and effortlessly everyone else can now do it.
For all the people who have bought 3.41 ps3s they have wasted their money. ( until sony patch it)

Many people will do this to host hacked lobbies but those who charge people will now have less customers as so many people will do this and they will now be loads more people hosting.

In the long term running homebrew apps will be cool to do on a 3.55 but im not sure

i agree with you on this we paid £300 for the console so there fore its ours to do what ever we want with.

this can be patched but like the people from failflow said ""The only way to fix this is to issue new hardware," and to be honest i dont think sony would go to all of that trouble.

If it gets crazy enough.... Who knows?

yeah good point. but for now were sorted for a while lol its would take them a bit of time to get it all sorted out

It can and can't be patched.

It can be patched if Sony made new keys and "X" amount of free consoles to had out. <--- Waste of time and money.

It can't be patched for the reason above, it would cost a lot of money because they would have to make new keys, and hand out free consoles in order for those keys to actually work. Any other way and it won't work.

My verdict. Sony will not patch it. And if they do have more firmware updates in the future, they aren't going to be security updates. Probably features like an updated PSN store etc.

i honestly do want this patched i host cl's but theres no fun in hosting them for everyone bc everyone will be running modded ps3's back when the psp was CFW i forgot wat it was called but it allowed you to run diff plugins etc it was an awesome feature that made other ppl and my friends jelous lol..
but a smart thing for sony to do is.

1. Disable Updating Threw via storage from a ps3 already updated to the latest frimware
2. Just bring back Otheros jesus...
3. Dont piss of hackers again.

it cant be patched the guys from failoverfl0w have sonys private key and they are going to make it public so you guys can expect ppl doing challenge lobbies,doing hacks 4 new games,porting pc hacks to the ps3,emulators,games piracy,etc. thanks sony lol.
