I mean it will make it really easy for "noobs" to just hack their ps3.
Someone else will do the work and effortlessly everyone else can now do it.
For all the people who have bought 3.41 ps3s they have wasted their money. ( until sony patch it)

Many people will do this to host hacked lobbies but those who charge people will now have less customers as so many people will do this and they will now be loads more people hosting.

In the long term running homebrew apps will be cool to do on a 3.55 but im not sure

No I meant I bought a ps3 before all of this came out.

They could (possibly) patch it by making a new private key BUT what that will mean is every new game will have to be redesigned with a new key. Witch will be a huge issue. OR just make a new PlayStation. A.K.A PS4 and get some serious hackers like GeoHot on their team like he said to make it unhackable or at least way harder.

There is word going around that people are getting Online Banned. So they can't make new accounts or play on any current ones. Not sure if it right but by updating they can see how you updated with storage device or REAL PS3 firmware.

No patching........ Do wanna think that

Just this 1,all noob are going i got a cfw im making a CL oooh im going to hack cod. I hope sony brick the people on that CFW.

They can't physically patch it but they can stop you installing the update via USB.

Well Sony will obviously try to find a way to reduce the people with this ability. Personally i don't really care. If i can still play the game normally than I'm happy.

Yes they can stop newer ps3s being updatable from storage. But you can use proxy methods to change the file that is being downloaded from your pc.

But you have to remember the recovery mode on the ps3 where you can install any firmware they would have to remove that too. To prevent custom firmware being installed but then actual bricked consoles would have to be sent to sony to be fixed...

We will see what sony will do, they have said there going to release a "security" patch soon.
