I mean it will make it really easy for "noobs" to just hack their ps3.
Someone else will do the work and effortlessly everyone else can now do it.
For all the people who have bought 3.41 ps3s they have wasted their money. ( until sony patch it)

Many people will do this to host hacked lobbies but those who charge people will now have less customers as so many people will do this and they will now be loads more people hosting.

In the long term running homebrew apps will be cool to do on a 3.55 but im not sure

Sony make's a firmwire to take away update with usb
Hacker makes firmwire with everything the same just a higher version of update Simple CANT BE PATCHED AND CANT BE FIXED

4 reasons why
1.you will need a whole new hardware for the key to change because the key is read of a code binder that keeps them safe and untraceable so that hackers cant get thier hand's on it (sony cant change either since ur console has to be off while the code is changing IMPOSSIBLE)
2.Sony makes thier firmware to patch the update with usb (hacker re-makes the firmwire and put's usb back in it)(but need to be 3.55 while updating to the new one)
3.ps3 havnt got the set type's to change the type while ps3 de-code's and fix's to the new code's and encrypts the file's while it connect's to PSN for the new code validation)
4.All ps3 game's are signed by that same code and runnning on the same pattern x-format i can name 5 problems that would cause (PS3 GAME'S STOPPED WORKING,NO DLC ACTIVATION,PSN WONT SIGN IN,your ps3 wont load because ur own fuking firmware is running the code)

so even if they try no fuking way will it happen even with geohotz knowledge i bet he couldnt fix it if he tryed.

Should be an option for, they can't patch it by software, only by hardware. E.g. A new PS3.
