Also another reason they go for so many platinums is because they want to show off like for instance I see some people of my friends list change there message to got my 10th platinum don't know why else they would put that message other than to show off and make other people jealous. So do platinums mean anything to you what are your opinions do you care about getting the most platinums than your friends or don't you bother because its too much time consuming or its hard to get platinums these days.

they are fun to get and they make you discover more stuff in the game

Im not addicted to trophies so much as completion so I have alot in general but thats what a platinum is to me I guess I just like making sure I do everything a game has to offer to get my money's worth out of it... i got like 7 or 8 platinums but basically thats what it is to me is a sign I completed the game but some games you don't get a platinum for 100% so as long as I get a 100% in a game if a platinum doesn't pop idc... but thats what it is to me I guess...

I like trophies, and I think trophy comparison with friends is great, since some of them are pretty hard to get and cannot be hacked, you can see if someone is good at one game

I love getting platinums because it shows how good I am at a game, especially when it's a really hard platinum. It's really just a matter of self-pride.

If you feel insecure because someone has more platinums than you, then that's your issue.

they are just trophies. show off or not there fun getting.

I love hearing the sound of a trophy popping up so yeah they kinda do mean something, but just as a sense of accomplishment.

They don't mean much to me.
